You are:

A professional with historical or cultural research experience, with a Degree in History, Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Library Sciences or other discipline related to archival and museum cataloguing and research. A Master’s Degree is preferable. You have knowledge of First Nation cultures, particularly of the North West Coast and have experience working with primary and secondary research materials. You have strong critical thinking, analysis and writing skills. You have excellent communications and interpersonal skills and have demonstrated ability to work independently. You must be proficient at MS Word and Excel; knowledge of Database and/or Summation litigation software is an asset. Knowledge of Haida language and culture is an asset. Drivers licence and vehicle required.

The successful candidate will locate, research and review documents on northwest coast history, culture, ethnology, archaeology, linguistics, Aboriginal Title and Rights; research at archives, museums and record centres; collect and compile authorities; prepare research memoranda, reports and other documents and provide related research support.

Position:      ProLaw Software Application Trainer

Job Status:   Contract Position
Location:     White Rock, British Columbia, Canada

Job Summary 

Provide customized one on one and group training for staff based on company customization of program. Provide instruction and evaluation to maximize use of all functions of the software. Assist in customization of software options to meet the needs of the organization in the areas of accounting and workflow management. Provide suggestions on how to improve existing processes to increase efficient use of ProLaw software. Provide ongoing support and instruction for all aspects of software.

Education/Experience

  • A degree in education, computer science or related fields from an accredited university or college and two years of relevant software training experience or a combination of education and experience in implementation and support for ProLaw systems. Thorough knowledge (certification is a plus) in ProLaw Practice Management software
  • Extensive experience in customizing ProLaw systems for specific corporate requirements
  • Must be versed in Accrual Accounting and able to understand the implications of WIP billing and AR
  • Special Training/Abilities

  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate technical information
  • Must be able to work with lawyers and support staff
  • Must be able to provide one on one and group training through an extended period of time
  • Must be able to travel to our offices to provide support
